Reviewing Skincare Products from Fabfitfun Spring Box

I want to share with you my initial reviews on some items I received through my subscription box, Fabfitfun. By the way, are you a subscriber to Fabfitfun?  I am totally obsess with this box, I have been with them for almost 2 years. No, this is not a sponsor post, I wish because just love them.

Spring finally arrived and we are all getting ready for short and swimsuit season. You know after a long winter, our body is in need of a good scrub to get rid of all the dead skin and possibly ready for self tan.  Manna Kadar Champagne Charcoal Body Scrub ($24) have just the right amount of grit to exfoliate without being too abrasive.  I also notice that while it soften my skin, it doesn't leave behind an oily film.  Which is great because my shower is not slippery.  However, I can't skip applying lotion after shower like I can with some scrub, I am okay with that.

The second piece of skincare in the Spring box is Korres Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial ($48).  The minute I  opened the jar, I was greet with the most delightful rose scent.  Even though the scent is obvious, it is a natural scent, not artificial.  The texture is a smooth thick cream that provide hydration during some cold days.  Do not pile on too much though as it can peel.  I had only used it for a few nights so I can't tell you if it brighten my skin or not, I normally leave that kind of judgement for when I have tested a product for at least a month.

The last product that I tested out was Tula Purifying Face Cleanser ($28).  I think it has a low ph level, something I look for in a cleanser.  I said "think" because I don't have the proper tool to measure the exact ph level but my skin is pretty sensitive and this did not leave it feeling tight afterward.  The one thing that I don't like about this cleanser is the scent, it smells like laundry detergent, not a scent I want in my skincare.  Perhaps with continuous use, I will get use to it and it will dissipate.

I am a beauty lover so it is always fun for me to try some new product that I might not have personally pick out myself or even know about.  What new skincare are you using at the moment?

Hello

Hello and welcome to Beauty Canvas.  My name is Trinh.  I have many hobbies but makeup and skincare have been my constant obsession for the past 15 years or so.  Whenever I am sick or just feel blah, makeup is a great mood lifter.  When I am frustrated, I go and play with swatches and my problem drift away, even if just for a moment.  At the end of a long day, sitting down and layering my skincare is a therapeutic ritual.  Need I say more?   Btw, I pick that photo to show you my everyday style...the light hand, no makeup makeup, with an occasional bold lips. I have an Instagram account beautifulcanvas80 that I post almost daily, I hope you will follow me there.  If you're here from IG, hi IG friends 😉

February Favorites

Hello, hello.  Are you dying for Spring to arrive like I am?  I love to garden and enjoy nature so the crave is so intense. Anyway, today we are talking about all the things that I was loving in the month of February.  I will start with makeup.  I have been really impress with the formula of Joah Beauty Matte Lipstick and particularly loving the shade Pie Bites.  I wrote a post about how it is a drugstore dupe for Mac Velvet Teddy here .  Go check it out for review on the formula and comparison swatches on the hand and lips. I am also enjoying the limited edition face palette from Charlotte Tilbury.  I gravitate toward face palette in general because they are so convenience for travel and it is always a plus when a palette also contain a setting powder.  Actually the setting powder is the star of this palette for me.  It amazingly blurs any imperfection and does not look dry or powdery.  My T-zone which has enlarged pore...

Drugstore Dupe for Mac Velvet Teddy Lipstick

Let just start out by saying that I am not a big matte lipstick person, but I will make exception for certain "ones", like Mac Velvet Teddy and Whirl.  I recently placed an order on Joah Beauty website and they offered a Kiss-a-holic lip kit as a gift with purchase.  I am so glad they did because this is not something I would have pick out myself. If you are not familiar, Joah is a K-beauty inspired Korean drugstore makeup brand that is available at some CVS locations.  Joah stands for "I like it" in Korean (cute huh) and their packaging is adorable.  I also love that everything comes sealed so their is no tampering.  I am a nude lipstick kind of girl so upon receiving the kit, I immediately applied the nude shade called "Pie Bites".  I was pleasantly surprise by the formula, it glides easily across my lip and wear comfortably for hours.  The finish is more like a cream, their is a hint of shine.  Staying power is stronger than a cream for...
